My Playing History
Currently, I play first trumpet in the Olney Community Band. I was previously the lead (1st) trumpet player in the Columbia Big Band (CBB) from its inception until 2021. I was also the Columbia Big Band band manager. Previously, I played in the Olney Community Band when I was in high school. I attended several jazz music clinics in Montgomery County. In addition, I performed in Montgomery College's Summer Dinner Theater for 2 seasons. At the University of Maryland, I played first trumpet in the Mighty Sound of Maryland marching band, as well as the pep band and briefly, the concert band. In addition, I played lead trumpet in the UMD Jazz Ensemble (UMD's premier jazz ensemble) under the direction of the late Chris Vadala. I have studied under Jerry Drake, Rick Ensminger and Tom Williams.
